Hey guys im having a bit of a problem so thought someone may be able to help me.A few days ago my DVD -/+ RW DL drive began acting up.I attempted to burn a few DVD's the other night and the burning process get's completed but when i test them in a DVD player it reads as a CD-DA disc.I have tryed this in 4 DVD players with the same result. Now i have tryed burning this DVD and others with also the same result. However before this problem began i burned some DVD's using the same media and they worked flawless. So i fear my drive may be dead. But i wanted to see if anyone else has encountered an issue like this before because i have never encountered it.

My burner is the Lite-On DVDRW SOHW-1633S using the latest 1633S BSOY firmware and i am attempting to burn using DVD+R 16x media at 8x speed. Thanks for the time.

Yes, mine did the same. Took it back to the dealer who didn't seem at all surprised. (Heard him tell someone in the backroom "Remember that batch of Lite-Ons we sold?"). After several weeks of pfaffing around he replaced it with an A-Open writer which turned out to be even worse. I finally cut my losses and bought an NEC which has worked flawlessly since.

Ah thanks man thats what i wanted to know im about to purchase two new ASUS ones from newegg heard alot of good things about this particular burner.

This wouldnt be the first time i had issues with the lite-on burner but last time a firmware update fixed the issue of not reading certain DVD's and DVD-R's.Think i'll stay away from lite-on for a while lol
