    I'd like to store my mp3 files on a standard USB flash drive and then plug the flash drive into pocket sized device for playback. It doesn't have to be pretty, just functional. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions.

    Search for "USB HOST" then you should be able to find what you want.

    USB HOST is the term for being able to read from another usb device without using a computer.

    Though since memory cards are steadily dropping in prices you might just be better off getting one that can read high capacity sd cards instead.... (plus the footprint would be smaller since the memory card would be internal instead of attached to the unit).
