I appologize if this is in the wrong forum, but I wasn't sure exactly where it would fall.
Here's the issue i've been having. I just finished putting together a video compiled of various clips I recorded with Fraps, and it's now time to export it. My intention was to export it as an uncompressed avi so I could then encode it with Xvid via VirtualDub Mod. However, i've tried exporting several times and everytime I do the picture quality looks much more blurred than in Premiere or the raw clip itself, and general picture quality drops substantially. This seems odd since i'm just trying to export it uncompressed, but i've toyed with just about every setting I can in Premiere and nothing has worked thus far. I'm using the same resolution the clips were recorded at for the export, deinterlaced, and with as high quality as the settings will allow but it doesn't seem to matter, just gives the same results. I do know a little bit about video encoding and what not, but this one has me baffled and i'm not the most knowledgable person on the subject, so any ideas or tips would be great. Thanks in advance.

Your project settings should be the same as your imported clip properties and the Export settings...
This will mean perhaps creating a custom session with the same codec you used for capturing...
Saving out to uncompressed won't get you better quality...It will simply be a larger file of the captured material...
Also, be careful about some Export options...Especially Pixel aspect ratios...
Watch for deinterlacing....
This step can definately harm your video if not done correctly..
I would go as far as suggesting deinterlacing in VirtualDubdmod, or using a plugin for that matter...
If the source was interlaced, then keep it that way..If XVID doesn't support interlaced footage, then i guess you've got no choice....
