    I want to convert a movie from dvd to mpeg2.

    then edit vegas 5.

    an easy tool with good quality

    an easy tool with good quality
    but not the best choice for mpeg source. Have you looked at Womble mpeg wizard ? The issue with Vegas (or Premiere, for that matter) is that it expends the video to the timeline, and must re-encode the whole thing. Womble will allow you to only re-encode the parts you change, and will leave the rest alone.

    no i haven't looked at Womble mpeg wizard.

    What tool should I use for dvd to mpeg2?

    If you want to convert to mpeg2 only to edit, than use Womble like guns1finger suggest.
    The app will let you import DVD VOBs and you can cut, transition and do other editing tricks, than you can export your creation to DVD

    TMPGenc mpeg editor. Drag the .IFO file into the edit window and it will load up each vob. You can edit it if you want from here and then save down to mpeg. Very fast & very simple.

    finally it worked! i was installing the .net frame for a windows 64 bit.
    and I have a 32bit


    Since you are running the 32 bit OS, you will need the 32 bit .Net Framework redistributable.
