In order to benifit from all the features and capabilities of BD and HDDVD discs, do I need an HDMI input later than Version 1.0, 1.1, or 1.2?

1.0=HD video & 5.1ch DD/DTS
1.1=adds DVD-Audio
1.2=adds SACD,DCD & 7.1ch DD/DTS
1.2a=update
1.3=adds Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio
Although HDMI is backward compatible make sure your receiver and tv accept v1.2+ before buying:
