inability to access Preferences in Version 2.1

I've just upgraded to version 2.1 build 2.1.2294 and when I attempt to burn with menu I get the error message that a number of users have been receiving regarding not finding the right version of NERO. When I attempt to go into preferences and settings to change the default burning to imageburn the program will not allow me to access preferences. Is this a bug in the program or am I doing something wrong?

So when you start the program and then click on the Preferences icon what happens? Nothing or do you get a error message?

Thank you for responding. When I attempt to select Preferences an error box pops up with the same message that other users have mentioned "An Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click quit, this application will be shut down immediately.

Then on the bottom line are the three choices Details, Continue and Quit. When I select Continue it simply takes me back to the Movies page and if I select Preferences again, the same thing happens.

Ok. What build of Nero do you have installed?

6.3.0.2 The same version that I've had for the past two years and the same one which doesn't seem to interfere with my ability to access the Preferences on the 2.0 version of SVCD2DVD. So what changed? And why should Nero even be a factor since I don't really use it for burning DVDs (only svcds). I prefer to use Imgburn for my DVDs. Is there a way that I can get back to using the imgburn program? (short of totally expunging Nero from my system or paying for an upgrade to version 7 that I really have no need for?)

PS I don't mean to seem nasty, just exasperated. I still love the program and think you've done a great job. Look, if there is no way around this issue, could you tell me if there is a way of bringing my version back down to 2.0?

Well as stated in other posts:

You can uninstall Nero (not recommended).

Upgrade Nero 6 to 6.6.1.4 (the latest for v6) from http://www.nero.com/nero6/eng/nero-up.php (recommended)

or email me & I will send you a later version of the single nerocom dll (also recommended)

All of these options will resolve your issue.

Noone is saying you must pay for anything.

Well, i was having the same preferences problem and I folloew the recommedation from ChrissyBoy and I updated my Nero to version 6.6.1.4 and mr problem is resolved.

Just got the new dll and that fixed it.

Well, after I upgraded my Nero version to 6.6.1.4 I started having problem with DVD Shrink. DVD Shrink won't burn automatically since it was claimed that there is a bug in this version. So DVD Shrink user
suffested to downgrade to 6.6.0.18. Can someone email me the new dll.

If you grab the latest build 2308 you should be ok too. Please let me know if this is the case.
