    Hi!
I wonder how I could crop my avi 4:3 or 16:9 video material to other shapes, like a standing rectangle, to show on the web using either QT, WM or Flash. I don't want any black portions in the finished video, just a rectangle and the player bar in the bottom. I have used VirtuaDubMod and Flix8 but haven't found this possibility. It seems not enough to change the dimensions in the players and just import 4:3, then the play timeline doesn't show up right.
    Thanks

In Virtualdubmod, click on Video -> Filters. Click on Add, and select the Null Transform filter. Back on the filters list, highlight the Null Transform filter, and the Cropping button becomes active. From here you can crop the video into any shaped image you like.

Do remember that some codecs do have restrictions on resolutions, which may affect how you encode.

Great! It worked. I imported an avi, cropped it and later made a Flash of it. Big thanks
