Random files will sometimes finish encoding for ipod at either size and the audio and wave files will not have added to the video file. I have three files staring at me video.mp4, a .wav and a video.audio. This is adding hours to my podcasting efforts. Any ideas???

Probably wouldn't hurt to post the specs of the source file as well as the specs of what your intended destination file should be. Might then get some idea what's going wrong.

The specs of the input file are: Apple Animation 1244 x 847 Thousands IMA 4:1 Mono 22.050 KHZ 10 FPS (a computer screen capture). The output are the default settings in ffmpegx for iPods either iPod H.264 320 x 176 or 640 x 352.

Here is an example output of the problem. It looks fine except the video and audio files just don't merge. As the file is large i have just posted the final details:

If either the video or audio file is greater than 2GB, then MP4BOX won't mux them together. Others and I are experiencing this phenonmenon, too. Could this be your problem?

Not at all! The video file is blue handwriting on a white background so its only 11.1 MB. The audio file is 26.9 MB. The wave file that formed with these two files was 118.1 MB. Not even close to the GB range.

Just for grins, why not try MPEG Streamclip? Sometimes it does things that, for some oddball reason, ffmpegX won't.

Last thing I want to do is try another encoding package. I'm temporarily using iSquint until i can reliably solve the ffmpegx problem. The only problem with iSquint is that when downloading the iPod file it doesnt appear until completely downloaded. The ffmpegx files are much superior in this regard.
