I have sucessfully downloaded and burn the movie on a DVD. I am able to play it on my computer but when I try to play it onmy DVD PLayer it gives me the message:

" DVD PLAYBACK PROHIBITED AREA LIMITATION"

Is there anyway I can fix or bypass that and burn a new DVD so that I can watch it on my DVD Player?

*** I know that it is a PAL format (as said from the download files), but sorry If i was unclear but is there a safe way I can somehow convert the PAL files into NTSC**

Likely, It's a PAL disc you try to play on a NTSC player. There are plenty of guides on the subject of converting PAL DVD to NTSC DVD.

  3. Look for a region free hack for your DVD player first.

What mats said.. if it's a burned dvdr it's a format problem, my old sony display's that when a pal disc is inserted, nothing to do with the region code.

Have you ever played a pal dvd on your standalone before ?
You can check the dvd or the vob files on it with AVIcodec, Gspot, to see what the resolution & framerate is, or check it with a software player to see the framerate/res.

  5. Region free hack may be as simple as pressing a few buttons on the remote. It's worth trying first.

Get Gspot and check what format the movie is in (PAL, NTSC).
I think Hogberg is right, since all downloads come usualy region free.

I would put money on it being a Sony player. It sounds like their error messages for format issues.

  8. Many PAL/NTSC conversion guides:

You're in for a steep learning curve and a lot of work. If you are going to do this often get a region free, PAL/NTSC converting DVD player instead.

It is not that hard, just little patience and time.
