Prolific PL3507 ChipSet Enclosure

Hey All

I got a new enclosure NEXSTAR 2 FIREWIRE and USB2.0

I put a NEC 3550a burner in it.....

WhenI connect FIREWIRE the Drive is only recognised as Prolific PL3507 Combo Device and it doesnt recognize the Nec Drive???

When I burn in Firewire I cant complete burn????

When I hook up USB2.0 well the NEC is then recognized........and I get full burns but in abot 1 HR and a half.....

Why cant I burn in firewire and why does it not recognize the NEC drive in Firewire?????

I wonder if it could have anything to do with the level of firmware on your prolific device.

I own a prolific based hard drive enclosure that i was able to solve a 'Delayed Write Failure' issue on. Before the firmware update that fixed the drive, i remember that the hard drive specifics were visible to Windows, but after, it reported only "Prolific Device".



Is there a firmware update available for this product from NextStar?
