MacPar is really a marvel.
I understand that when you use it it make .rars and par2's you can sent the redundancy % to make up for upload/download errors
or something like that
how then can it from time to time recreate an entire .rar thats missing? does it somehow just edit that portion out of the movie?
what if it was a different .rar that was missing? just luck here>

The redundancy is built from the 'original' file(s), not containing any part of the original, but data that can represent any part of the original, calculated from both the parity data and enough of the correct/verified parts of the original, thanks to Reed-Solomon code.
