hook up question

im trying to dub something off of my panasonic dvd recorder hard drive to a vhs tape. but when i try it only records my directv feed and not the playback of the hard drive when i try to dub it. does anyone know how i can do this?

To play the DVD to the VCR for VCR recording
The Output of the DVD Recorder has to be to the VCR Input and the VCR output to the TV so you can see what is being done
I do not know your connection setup and what are your requirements, but you may need to use an A/V switch, or just manually swap the connections.

I assume the system is presently connected
Direct tv receiver output to the VCR input
The VCR output to the DVD recorder input
The DVD recorder output to the to the TV

Just a question
Why not dub to the DVD or are you trying to by-pass a Flag restriction that will not allow this to a disk.
