    Hi,

    I converted a movie (.avi) into a DVD (.vob).When i played it after conversion i see a message on the screen It says:

    winavi video converter
    remore this nag for only $29.95


    When i downloaded the software, i thougt i was free....can i gt rid of this without paying anything

    No, you can't. And asking about obtaining copyrighted software illegally would be considered Warez on our site and in violation of our rules. Please read our rules before posting.

    The good news is that WinAVI is not a very good program for conversions and not too popular on our site. There are many other alternatives. For freeware, you might try the older DivxToDVD for Xvid or Divx to DVD conversions. But the paid version is much better and well worth the cost.

    Or there are methods with freeware encoders and authoring programs that will do an even better job. The downside is that they require some study and time to learn how to use them. We have guides and many programs available in our 'Tools' page.

    But try DivxToDVD or the trial version of ConvertXToDVD as they may be all you need.
