    hello, i have recently purchased a portable player but it has no contrast/brightness control, is there any way i can change the brightness contrast on my files (usuallly xvid/divx)?

    If you are creating them with a converter or encoder, you should be able to adjust the contrast/brightness there, depending on the program used. If the video has already been converted, you would probably have to re-encode it.

    Yep, but you must reconvert the video. You can use Virtualdub, video->filters and add the brightness/contrast filter. Then save as a new divx/xvid by select video->compression divx or xvid and file->save a new avi.

    thanx for your help, i have made another post with the exact settings i would like to input if someone could help me with using virtualdub I would be most grateful as i am having a few issues
