This unit worked OK for almost a year, although it didn't get heavy usage. Now when I try to dub from the hard drive to a DVD-R, it dubs for about 30 seconds, then goes crazy. I'm not sure it's exactly the same sequence every time, but basically it shuts down, runs through "Self Check" a couple of times, then tells me to change the DVD, then shuts off again, etc. This started happening about two weeks before the warranty ran out, so I thought I had lucked out. However, the technician had NO such problems and was able to record a DVD. But when I brought it home and hooked it up, I had the same problem. Obviously he and I are both baffled. I would love to hear from anybody with some suggestions, or past experience with this problem.
