  1. I'm tearing out what hair I have left trying to figure out how to make use a DVD +RW to save my photographs.

I have been trying to use Nero to allow multisession but when I put the disc back in the drive it "refreshes" the previously burned files and leaves me with nothing!

I want to be able to add folders of jpg files from time to time to get them off my HD in case of a crash.

Sorry but I have searched and can't seem to find the answer to this question. I see HELP files that deal with a mulitsession CD but not a DVD I have thousands of photos and they can't just be on my HD!!

What am I doing wrong? When I put the DVD in the second time, I choose " continue multisession " but it acts like there are no other files on the disc! Yikes! I've used ISO Buster to look at the disc and after the 'refresh' cycle, there are NO files there from the previous session.

What setting or settings do I have wrong? I want to be able to add folders from time to time, but I end up burning ALL the files over again because I can't figure out how to do it! Grr!!

    Thank you!

    J T

The burner's are a Sony and a Lite On LH20A1H DL

I am only using single layer DVD+RW to make these so called back ups!

I find it is easier to just burn the discs as data like I would a normal dvd-r disc.

I have 2 discs set aside for my photo backups. I keep all of the photos on my HD. Whenever I add more photos, I then take the oldest of the two discs, and burn the complete collection onto the disc (using data mode).

This allows me to have all my photos handy at all times (on the HD), and I basically have two backups incase something bad should happen AND I have a bad/faulty dvd backup. It also ensures that other computers can read the disc. Multi-session discs are often only readable from the source pc/drive.
