    hello everyone

i have a little problem using nero vision express 4, on my sony vaio im able to create movies with menus like a regular dvd, now my laptop's cpu is a pentium m 740, 1,73Ghz with 512Mb of ram-memory, it takes between 9 to 15 even 18 hours to create one dvd depending on the settings, but it does it.

now, on my desktop (P IV 3.4 Ghz, 1Gb ram memory) nero vison will stop while transcoding...
why??? i never really tryed anything because i really dont know what to do, what i actually try once was creating a movie from a low quality mpeg movie and then the same proces with a high quality mpeg movie, both with the same result... nero stoping...

thank you all very much, hope you can help me a bit and hope to hear from you soon

    Same version?
You might also have some problems with installed decoders codecs.

But I would instead try something else like ConvertXtoDVD.

I have the same exact issue. It works on my laptop, but desktop, nero vision will just stop randomly. Sometimes after 30 min, an hour, etc. I caome back to the computer and the program is just gone, and must have closed itself. Did you fix your issue? Help.

I have the same problem with my nero. Have you guys tried doing a complete reinstall on your desktops?

I really like the ease of the Nerovision.

I am going to try that software convert x to dvd.

Hopefully a reinstall of windows can help me.

Yes, I 've reinstalled nero many times, which didn't help. Honestly, I've now learned that these all-in-one programs like Nero arent always the best, since it's hard to get everything to work, and quality isn't always as good.

I suggest getting stand-alone programs to do that you want. One for DVD's, one for burning music, etc. That is what I'm doing now and better quality and much FASTER!

Understatement of the year. I'd rephrase it to
these all-in-one programs like Nero are mostly crap, since it's impossible to get everything to work, and quality is non existent.

What's scary about using a hammer to drive a nail, a screw driver to drive a screw, an axe to chop wood...?

Agreed on the whole situation, but... For me I did find out why it was quiting. I had to update to the latest update of nero 6.6.1.4 and Nerovision 3.1.0.25. Then ... no more crashing.

I also installed the Divx codec, (a buddy of mine suggested I do so... Probably did nothing.).

BUT... as of last night, I managed to encode a full dvd, (personal Videos of course) without the app quiting or without studdering video.

I am going to give that VSO converter a shot still, but... maybe nero isn't ALL bad... Just mostly bad.

Thanks guys, I love the forums here.

I don't understand, nero is already on version 7+, anything in the version 6 is old.

  17. Ok, well now I have an issue. Yes, covertXtoDvd work great now, but when I use DVD SHRINK it will no longer autoburn the movie since I removed nero. Any suggestions? Is there a way to just install one part of the nero program so this autoburn will work again? I like to leave the PC and come back with it finished on it's own. Help guys.

I think there's a version of DVDShrink that'll use DVDDecrypter (or ImgBurn?) instead of Nero. Much better alternative.
Or have Shrink output to ISO, then "manually" burn with ImgBurn. That's how I always do it.

Just set Shrink to Create ISO and burn with DVDDecryter. That option has always been there and works well for those who like to choose other than the MAX burning speed. Preset your burning speed in Decrypter and it always use that speed.

Or get a new hacked version of Shrink if you feel the need to use ImgBurn.

Thanks, I tried the DVDDecrypter and it works great! Seems to also be a little faster, but maybe it's just me. Thanks. Everything is working great now!
