Does anyone know why when I convert a 1GB VOB file(already DVD Decrypted) to AVI, using AutoGK, then burn to DVD, the audio works fine playing the DVD in my PC’s DVD drive, but I get no audio playing the DVD in my stand-alone DVD player.
(I have a Toshiba player, which plays AVI files).
But, when I make short ‘clips’ from that same VOB file, they play fine on my stand-alone
DVD player. Doesn’t make any sense to me.
At first I thought it might be that there’s a limit to the file size, wherein audio won’t work for files larger than a certain MB size. But, that doesn’t hold water, as I have full movies in AVI format, and they play just fine.
    Ideas, anyone?

Have you checked if the audio is being encoded in AC3 in your AVI file? Im not an expert in that program but I am sure you can set output audio i.e mp3 etc.

For audio, I'm using CBR MP3 192kbps. I've tried various different VOB's, so it's not the VOB's fault. And the audio settings shouldn't matter, as I used the same in creating the 1GB AVI, as I do when I use VituralDub to create short clips, from that same 1GB AVI file.
