Hey everyone. I'm just now having some troubles copying certain video files from a TDK DVD+RW disc to my hard drive. I'm just using a simple copy and paste from the DVD to the HD and the 1st files copies fine, but the next 2 files give me a: data error (cyclic redundancy error).

Does anyone know why my DVD+RW drive is being discrimanatory as to which files it will copy?

    Thanks, Randy

Try copy with Isobuster or try copy with another computer/dvd drive.

not all media is created equally!.. it is VERY common to have a disc that works fine in one drive, but not in another. i have had discs give me this 'data error' in the very drive they were created in, but read fine in another! this is why you will often hear, "try different media". unfortunately all you can do is keep trying, but there's no guarantees...

But I'm copying and pasting all the files from the same disc and drive.

    For instance:

File 1 - Honeymooners TV Show ----------------- copies great

File 2 - The Hillbillies TV Show -------------------- error

They are all avi files. What gives?

    Thanks, Randy

It is VERY common with reading problems on home burnt dvd media as toolfools says. And yes it may work to copy a bit from the dvd but not everything.

IsoPuzzle may help, but try a different drive first if possible.
