In desperate need of book type setting help

Hello,

I have an NEC-ND 2510A. I have used all types of firwae hacks that allow for bittsetting, but whernever I set a DVD+RDL to DVD Rom, and it is accepted as such, after the burn, it is still read as a DVD+RDL. No matter what I try, I cannot get the booktype to change.

It may be a shot in the dark but I had the same problem.
Turned out to be Nero and the ISO settings. I had set the drive to DVD-ROM but had also set
"allow path depth of more than 8 directories"
"Allow more than 255 characters in path" and
"Do not add the ';1'ISO file version extension"
on which (on my version at least) caused the disk to revert to DVD+R.

I also always set the character set to ISO 9660 using 8.3 file names but I don't know if that has any effect
