Windows XP Pro X64 frrezing with SVCD2DVD

Hi guys, i've just built myself a new PC and put the above OS on. Few teething problems with drivers etc, but all is working great now, except SVCD2DVD.

It loads up fine, all appears to work, but when I try and let it run to burn the dvd it freezes when converting the avi's.

I'm trying to put two films, each having two avis, onto a dvd. It does part 1 and 2 of the first film, then part 2 of the second. Then just freezes, but I mean it freezes my whole computer, nothing at all works.

This doesn't happen with any other software I run.

Any ideas?

Could be problem with the source file, have you tried running it without the file it freezes on? Otherwise, could it be a cpu cooling problem?

File plays fine? I'll try doing one film at a time and see if that is the issue. But why would that freeze my whole pc and make me press restart?

Not a cooling issue, I have two case fans and the cpu fan installed, top of the range case that is designed to keep it cool. Not overclocked etc, so can't see how it is that!

Load the problem file up in Gspot and post an image of the result. Post your log file too.

I'm beginning to think it could possibly be the temp. I'm only using the stock cooler that came with my 4600+ CPU, and temps during normal use are between 30-40 degrees, but maybe they go higher after running svcd2dvd for an hour or so. I'm finding it crashes and freezes with any program I try to use when it gets to the creation stage!

I've installed a temp monitoring prog and will watch it. I've also order a zalman cooler, so that will eliminate any problems I have!

OK, I started svcd2dvd, had outlook open and I was on the net. The temp started at 24 degrees, then after about 5 minutes the readout was:

CPU #1: Core #1: 41 Degrees
CPU #1: Core#2: 38 Degrees
CPU: 36 Degrees

To me these temps seem quite low. However, my PC froze all of a sudden???

Temps look fine, could be a RAM problem. Is your memory listed as compatible with the motherboard?

Try memtest and see if it finds errors. There are other programs to test as well but I am not familiar with them, perhaps someone else can help?

OK, sorted now guys!!! Turns out it was just Windows XP X64.

I've reformatted and put standard XP Pro on and it works like a charm again
