Okay i use psp video 9 for ipod not psp. The problem was back then my psp video 9 was great idk what i did, and my ipod video would basically play the movies on "super widescreen". The blackbars were basically removed, there was about a cm of black bars, so the widescreeen was big..using most of the ipods screen. I had to reformat my pc and now my new psp video 9 settings convert movies into a widescreen that use so little of the screen...there is huge black bars and most of the screen isn't being used...What do i do and i can't use custom resolution?? Please help and thank you. here are some pictures of the comparison..

THIS IS WHAT I DON'T WANT BUT HAVE ON MY NEWER MOVIES

Your source material dictates your output. Your issue is no different than the "black bars" that appear on your TV during various widescreen movies. The original aspect ratio changes the "size" of the black bars. Your only choice is to stretch the image to make it fill the screen or crop the edges to make it fill the screen.

Let me understand you correctly ... you want to cut of the edges of the picture so you can make it bigger?

Is this really what you are saying? If so think about the implications of it ... you will not be seeing the entire picture!

okay what i want is really a "taller Widescreen", the widescreen is too small to watch, and the fullscreen cuts out a lot of the picture...i have asked this same question on 4 different forums and tried every profile on pspvideo9...please help. Thank you for the quick response.

Since the psp uses a 4:3 screen, what you are needing to do is crop the left/right sides of the video. There is no other way of making the video "taller" without distorting the picture.
