    Just purchased a new Pinnacle capture card with SVideo. It doesnt auto detect the WMD settings and I dont know which ones to use. The one I tried makes any program that goes above 288 lines crash. Any ideas guys?

    I don't know about that particular capture device but in VirtualVCR it sometimes help to check the option "Use smart tee filter for preview" in the view tab of the settings.

    If your capture device works with Virtual Dub you should be able to capture @ 720x576 with the preview mode (turn off overlay). Turning even the preview mode off helps with dropped frames.
