  1. I have a Pentium 4, 128 ram, and running XP. It records great with no frame drops as long as I don't open any other programs while capturing. Also, during playback, the audio is fluid but the video can be a tiny bit jerky. Would more ram help all this?

need a little more info for a good answer, what kind of hard drive? 5400 or 7200 rpm? what resolution are you capturing at? what is your cpu usage during capture?

  3. Ok, I monitored my cpu usage and when capturing, it stays at 100%. But, if the hard drive is freshly defragged, it doesn't drop any frames as long as I don't do anything else with my pc. I am capturing at 720x480, NTSC(525), 8.00 Mbit/Sec audio at 44.100khz, 16 bit stereo. On playback usage never goes over 75%. And, I am not sure how to tell which I have 5400 or 7200 rpm. I am still a newbie.

  5. Dude, you DON'T DO anything on your PC while capturing, especially if your CPU resources are filled up.
