    I have a 16:9 movie and i want to crop the left right side to make it 4:3.. is there any simple guide to tell me how to do that?

    I try doin it with fitcd and vdub, but vdub always creates HUUUUGE file.. even if i use direct stream copies...

    AFAIK you can't use direct stream copy with filters, you have to frameserve or re-encode the AVI. This is not something i've ever done but i'd play around with the null transform and resize filters, good luck.

    When you save the avi file you need to be in full processing mode and you need to select and configure a codec. The default for virtualdub is uncompressed, which is why the file sizes are so large.
