    Hello people

I am burning dvds of the tv show '24' that were downloaded from the internet. All is fine in the DVD creation world, but the problem i'm facing is that the display on my 40' sony bravia TV does not go all the way to the borders of the TV. Instead there are black bars around the whole image, it does not scale to fit the widescreen tv.

I've provided an image to describe what I'm talking about: Image A represents how it shows up on my TV now, Image B is what I want to achieve.

My encoding process goes as follows:

SOURCE FILE: here is a snapshot from GSPOTT, showing the properties of my source file.

    ENCODER:
My encoder settings Cinema Craft Encoder SP, I leave all defaults for a DVD at 720x480, except change the bit-rate to 6000kpbs, (which should not affect this issue in any way).

Any insight on this? Please help! Thanks

Yeah, you're encoding for 4:3. Maybe try encoding for 16:9 next time.

Buy it on DVD. Downloaded TV shows == warez according to site rules. Severely frowned upon.
