I just purchased the Samsung DVD-HD90, I am having a problem playing some of my DVD+Rs. I have noticed it is the ones I had to run ANY DVD in the background to copy. Would hacking the DVD player and making it capable of playing all regions solve this problem?

No. If it was a region issue, the disc would not be playable and you would get an invalid region error or something similar. Most likely, it is a media issue. Your new player may not like the brand/type of media that you are using. You can try looking up your player in the DVD Players section and see what media others have had success using.

I am using Memorex DVD+Rs. The thing other Memorex DVR+Rs worked great, but certain movies I burned with CSS (in which I had to run ANY DVD in the background) are working horribly.

When I hacked the DVD player and changed it to any region, the DVD player was able to load up the discs that didn't work the other day, but had a hard time getting to the menu and playing the movie (meaning the picture and sound kept skipping).

Any suggestions? Its a good DVD player, and these other DVD+Rs worked in my 3 year old JVC DVD player perfectly.

Stick with dvd-r will give less issue's and burn at half the maximum rating of the media ... slower is always better for fixation of file's to media ... and keep below 4.3gig .

Take anydvd , and throw it to hell ... fast ... it has issue's .

Go here http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=58318 , download this pgcedit package , as it will also install the psl2 plugins required to rip new dvd title's .

You add the last dvddecrypter , dvdshrink , and imgburn (it come's with fixvts included already) .

From there , just keep up to date with the going's on with pgcedit .
