Since I'm new and can't post in the forum that deals with this particular DVD recorder, I thought I'd try here to see if I can get any assistance.

I will let you know...that I'm not exactly the most technically savvy person out there...but I usually can figure something out.

I recently purchased the RCA 80GB DVD recorder from Walmart. My TV is fairly old and does not have digital inputs, but I was able to use an adaptor box (not sure what the real name is), to connect the coaxial cable from my TV to the box and then the digital inputs into this box from the DVR recorder.

I then hooked up the cable line to the DVR and everything worked just great.

PROBLEM - I just got digital cable and now I have an actual cable box. I've tried to configure it every way I can think of, but I'm unable to get the DVR to work properly...to be able to access the menu etc...

I have no clue what the problem is...any maybe my only solution is to buy a new TV with digital inputs, but that really isn't an option right how.

Any suggestions on how to set up the DVR recorder, with a digital cable box and TV with only a coaxial input?

There should be a setup diagram in the manual (you know the rectangler paper object with all the words and pictures. jj ).

Anyway, setup will be the same as VCR's used to be. Cable box into the DVD recorder, then DVD recorded into the TV.

I was aware of that form, but was unable to post in that forum until this morning....hence my asking the question in the newbie forum.

Krispy Kritter - thanks for your assistance, unfortunately the manual did not have the information I needed, but I was able to make it work.
