    how do i find out if my connection is a 512 or 256 connection?

    I am in QLD Auatralia.

    Use a test site. If your downloads max out at around 29 - 32KB then you have a 256 connection. 512 should be around double that download rate.

    You'll probably get different speeds at different test sites.

    Just checked mine now.....

    Myspeed.Visualware...... 4 mbps
    TestMy.net..................... 3.1 mbps
    Speakeasy Atlanta......... 4.3 mbps
    Speakeasy Chicago........ 4.8 mbps
    PCPitstop....................... 1.7 mbps

    Saturday my speed was 100 kbps because Time Warner pooped out again.

    Speedtest.net has local Australian servers, and for what is needed, will give you a good idea. However you should know what you subscribed for.
