I was trying to identify a car in The Fast and The Furious on a friend's DVD today to settle an argument. We played the movie over and over, but then I tried to take a snapshot of the movie paused at the right place. I opened the snapshot in an image viewer (in my case gimp, but the problem occurs in any viewer). Why is it that the snapshot looks very blocky, and it gets much worse when it's zoomed in. I was using Cyberlink's PowerDVD to take the snapshots. I also have a Pioneer 305S SCSI DVD-ROM player. Are there any other programs that anyone knows of that takes better snapshots?
