Hi fellows, what are the procedures and programs for burning 4 movies..( or even 5 or more) using DL disks?.
I figure if we can burn 2 movies to a 4 gig disk we surely could do 4 in a 8 gig disk.
    TIA.

Thanks for answering, sorry for the screwup..I'm a little rusty.
I'm ripping my own dvd movies as backup and travels (4 movies per disk is a lot easier to carry around than 4 disks).
I rip with dvd decrypter and use dvd2one and shrink for compression and or setups. Once in a while I would use Author too.
    TIA

  4. This methid should work:
    1) Rip with Decrypter
    2) Shrink to about 2GB with DVD Shrink
    3) Repeat this for all 4 movies
    4) Use a simple DVD authoring program like TMPGEnc DVD Author to create a basic DVD
    5) Use this guide to burn directly to DL media with ImgBurn:

All these tools are free except for DVD Author.

If I missed any steps or have too many please just in and correct me.

  6. Thank you. I figured I may have put in an extra step. I haven't used Shrink that many times, so I didn't know that could be done. So that should eliminate the need for using TMPGEnc then. Now all he will need is free tools.

Another viable option may be to merge the DVDs with DVDRemake Pro, then run DVDShrink or DVD2One in Full Disk mode to pull it down to DL-VDR size. At least that way you retain all menus etc. You can even blank out unwanted extras beforehand in VOBBlanker as well.
    If in doubt, Google it.
