Help new to burning movies

Help new to burning movies. I hope someone can help me? I burn a video . Everything seems to go well. Then my CD player thells me playback feature not availible on this disc . Any Idea what I am doing wrong ????

CD players can't play movies.

Please give us MORE information what you are doing,
what video files are you burning?
what tools are you using?
are you converting to dvd-video?
cd player? or do you mean dvd player?

I downloaded and avi file from Bt junkies. Burn it to disc. It will not play back on my dvd player. Using Nero 7

playback feature not availible on this disc

We still need more information to be able to determine what's wrong,
Did you burn it as a data disc, just the avi file on a cd or dvd? or did you make a dvd-video with nerovision, you should then see a VIDEO_TS folder on the dvd?
Does your dvd player support divx?

Easiest is to use ConvertXtoDVD and convert to a dvd-video and burn and it should work on most dvd players. If your player supports divx be sure that your avi is a DivX first, you can identify it with gspot.
