Okay I just picked up an ext 250GB drive and here's the plan...
I have decided instead of adding another 320GB, Im just going to reformat the 60GB to use MCE, put the 320GB in as a slave for captures/storage and use the ext for storage.
I want to add a HDTV card and I wanna make SURE before I make the investment, that my system specs can handle it.
Right now -
P4 2.4Ghz
512GB@333Mhz
ATI All In Wonder 9600XT
Min specs for the ADS and WinTV HVR-1600 are 2.4Ghz, which I have.
Im going to upgrade to 1GB@400Mhz that is max bus speed.
How would this run? I believe it would be fine actually. The ant Im going use is an amplifed model that is going to be installed on the back of the 5LNB dish. When they upgraded the dish and added the HR-20 to my Pop's TV, the OTA tuners were not active yet. They are now available since a firmware update has been added. I thought about getting an HR20 as well, but I figure since anything captured via the video card and the output from the box is still only S video, I have decided to take the "free" upgrade to the H10 D*TV HDTV tuner and let the PC do the PVR work. Another reason to use MCE and the MCE remote so I can use the IR blaster to change the channel on the box.
I really don't wanna add too many more things to this PC otherwise it would be more cost effective to get a new system...
Thanks everybody ahead of time...
