  1. I'm going to be getting a new computer soon, and I've been hearing that Vista has some new anti-piracy measures. I'm not too concerned about P2P networks because I pay for my music, but my concern is how this could affect my video stuff.

Are we still able to use DVD Decrypter and the like? Or have they been blocked? I can't seem to be able to find a list of specifically what these restrictions are. Any help?

just stick with winXP if you are worried about it ... no reason really to switch to Vista

If you buy a new computer, you may not have a choice about OS. When I bought a pc many years ago I got WinME, even though I would have much preferred 98SE.

There were rumors that region-free drives won't work under Vista, but SlySoft says their AnyDVD works with Vista, so I guess those were just rumors.

I switched to a Mac rather than put up with the XPerience, but now I'm looking to switch to Linux.
The latest macs have dvd drives (Matsushita) that have to be replaced with a different brand to even rip a disk out of region.

  4. Just thought I'd say that since using Vista I have not had a problem with any program at all. All Video/Audio conversion programs and ripping stuff e.t.c. that I've tried works fine.
