How do I take several .mov files and put them into one avi. files?

Assuming you have QT Pro:
1. Open all the mov's.
2. Create a new movie.
3. Go back to each of the open movies, select all, copy, switch to the new movie, paste.
4. Export the new movie to an AVI.
Note that if the mov's are of different sizes, the dimensions of the video will be the largest of the ones you pasted in and the smaller ones will be pinned to the upper left. You may offset the positions of the smaller movies to center them. -
QT Pro is extremely handy. It won't do everything but there are many things for which you would otherwise pay a lot more.
