Mpeg2 tagging

Im new to this forum but I have not been able to find an awnser to this question. I would like to know haw to tag mpeg4 files with info such as actors, genre, year, ect. I am using a netgear eva700 media entertainer and it has the option to search movie lists by these subcatagories and I am assuming it reads some sort of tag. Also is there a way to automatically tag files with info from the web?. Thanks for any help.

For avi and mpeg2 try Virtualdubmpeg2 ...File >Set File information for mp4 files use Yamb... options >General> enable tagger.
