  1. I have lots of avi movies on my hard drive. When i convert them to mpeg for viewing it via VCD using TMPGEnc I get horizontal black bars on top and bottom. I used the guide given on this forum itself. However only one of my movies got converted to a fullscreen mpeg. Please advice as to what mistake i am doing. Watching movies woth those huge black bars is frustrating.

  3. Thanks for the quick reply.
Tried it. It works but some portion from the sides is cut. Previously i kept the aspect ratio at 4:3 and managed to get only 1 movie fullscreen.

  4. Unless you source is 4:3 you can't have full screen, the entire picture, and the correct aspect ratio all at the same time.

  5. The movies with black bars were made widescreen originally. To make it fullscreen without blackbars you need either to lose something from the sides or to not keep the aspect ratio (people are tall and slim). There is no other way. The movie that you have fullscreen was made originally fullscreen.
