I asked this in the newbie forum but couldn't come up with an answer.

My tmpgenc 2.5 does not sense any audio in any file I give it. Even if I extract the audio as a seperate wave file, when I encode the file it has no audio. If I look at the source range the audio does not display at all under the picture, just a flat line. Any idea how I can fix this? I've searched these forums and set the VFAPI directshow priority. These are not AC3 audio, so that's not a factor. I can encode ok with nero or ulead movie factory, but I prefer my tmpgenc.

I've extracetd the audio with virtualdub and saved it as a wav or mp3 and tmpgenc still can't do anything with it. I'm using lame for audio in tmpgenc.

Can't you choose a third party audio encoder in Tmpgenc, like Toolame and SSRC ?

    Find them both on www.rarewares.org

Just curious, but can you detail exactly how you extracted the audio ?

(I'm just trying to eliminate a somewhat common mistake of not choosing Full Processing)

Below are guides for extracting audio properly with virtualdub / virtualdubmod:

    If in doubt, Google it.
