I wasn't really paying attention to scifi channel as to why they are airing
these shows and in this unusual style, but I'm sure we all appreciate it,
non the less.
Personally, I really liked the series. But, there was a time, when I began
to stop watching them.. here and there a little. So, there are some episodes
I haven't seen, yet.
The series *Telecine* are clean and preserved, so IVTC is definately possible.
However, your mileage may vary acording to your capture equipment and it's
capabilities, assuming that you might plan an attempt at archiving them in
your own prefered format.. ie, DVD; divX; or other.
I was thinking about seeing if I could squeez 4 episodes on one +/- R disc in
good quality, but I'll have to play around with some ideas and see if it is worth
the effort, or else just shoot for max quality per disc. I don't know. But I did
decide to use my Polaroid dvd recorder, at maximum quality (HQ) and begin
the process. So far, I only have couple of episodes to work with.
I'll try and post (upload) some samples of my work, or maybe a few on the
4 per disc, vs. 1 per disc, or something. It's a hobby, so I'll have fun trying

Don't get me wrong I ended up watching most of the four seasons during its first run. I did like the finale a bit but only because RIKER and TROI were in it
I will say this though - IT IS ABOUT DAMN TIME THAT ALL STAR TREK SERIES ARE FINALLY ON CABLE!!!!!!
We know have STAR TREK TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY, and ENT on three seperate channels every day of the week (sans the ENT four show once a week blitz).
(Enterprise on scifi, ds9 and voy on spike, TOS on TVLAND, and TNG on G4 and SPIKE).Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
yoda313, Thank you for your honesty.
I guess you could say, that I went through my own ups and downs with this
series. That's why there is a small *blank/void* somewhere's in between.
When they took the series off the air, I was put off by this decision. And
it made me very upset, because I started to have interest (after putting
aside my bias and other strong feelings for the other successful spin-offs)
in the early days of Star Fleet standards and things. For instance, in
one of the episodes, they were having problems, and one of the crewmen
suggested that "..maybe we should have shorter intervals of communicating
during a mission, every 10 minutes or something.." yada yada. And there
are so many other things that weren't Star Fleet standards, yet. Things
that were like the later (mature) years of Star Fleet (and Enterprise)
standards, etc.
The ship.. I thought, at first, it looked like a cheap tin can. You get
the picture, I'm sure. But, then I got hold of myself, and remembered what
I was working up to.. to not be bias, and appreciate the very early timeline
of Star Fleet beta beginings, and I was finally able to understand and
appreciate the (how do I word it) low-cost appearance of everyhing.. the ship;
the uniforms; (which I rather liked) the missions; the everything. I was
just happy that they were in the correct timeline of technowledgy and their
actual experiences, etc., and looking forward to seeing how they build to
what they've become, in the current Star Trek language.
I remember when I found out that Scott Bakula (spelling) was gonna be the
regular Captain. I was dumfounded of that call. And I was against it
because I was not a fan of his. But, after a few years, he grew on me,
and, well, today, I can't see another (actor) replace him as Captain. It
wouldn't be the same.
Anyway. When they did take it off the air, after a while, I began to miss
them more, and relized that the show was not as bad as everyone was X'ing
it out to be. I'm just glad that they have them out, again.
