someone sent me a 90 minute dvd probably recorded on a dvd recorder (rather than a computer) from a vcr, but with only one audio channel. I would normally just demux, edit the audio in Nero, and remux. But I'm getting audio sync problems when demuxing with Vobedit, Pgcdemux, and Pvastrumento. If I try to remux with Muxman, the AV are out of sync. I checked the "AV delay" in Pgcdemux and entered this in the Muxman delay (tried it as + and - delay) but it doesnt fix it. This is all before I even alter the audio to make it two channel. I trimmed the movie in 'Shrink (even though it sometimes throws the audio off, I thought it was better to trim what looked like pauses in the recording before the movie came on). Then I tried demuxing with Pvastrumento - highlighted all the VOB's and the results would mux correctly, but the audio was 55 seconds too short. The other two demux programs still produced un-synced audio which I can't correct with entering delays in Muxman. I don't really want to eyeball the correction with Delaycut. How can I get Pvastrumento to work? I could demux the Vob's individually and add them together in vobedit later, but after demuxing the last VOB, I noticed the audio is cut off a few seconds. Is there a setting in Pvastrumento I can change to alter this? Or any solution?
I don't own Tmpgenc, so please limit advice to freeware.

I usually start with VOB2MPG, then work with the MPEG file from there.

I tried VOB2MPG but got the same results with Pvastrumento.
Pva actually displays that it has cut off a 55 seconds from the AC3 audio, even tho it seems to start off without much cutting (the "-4ms"):

    Settings\Desktop\New Folder (15)\VTS_01_00.mpv
    New AC3 audio : C:\Documents and Settings\Desktop\New Folder (15)\VTS_01_00 - DELAY -4ms.ac3

    AC3 1: 155473 frames, 01:22:55.136
