I have read that this unit will stop recording from a miniDV camcorder (through the DV IN jack) when any blank space occurs in the video, such as is common with camcorder videos. Can anyone verify this? Is there a solution?
After much research, I had finally decided to buy this unit instead of the Pioneer 640H solely because of the DV IN jack and the ability to transfer miniDV footage by firewire (I want to avoid the PC). However, maybe I'm back to square one. It doesn't seem like much fun having to perpetually re-hit "record" while transferring my 40+ miniDVs.
