I am having problems encoding my video. I'd like to have a much smaller file for the PSP but still have the same great look of the original high quality rip. I have run dozens of encodes and H264 encodes 30 minutes there abouts of video in 8 minutes. Dont get me wrong. I'm not complaining. It's just the quality of the video is just not up to par esp when i even use maximum bitrate encoding for the PSP. I use Datel's PSP Media Manager to convert. I have been reading and it appears that encoding speed affects quality of the video. Correct me if Im wrong. If Im not how do I change settings on the x264 codec or whatever to have the same great look as the original? ie no pixelation blocks or anything of the sort. H264 is suppossed to give me high compression with out the loss of quality and its not true in my case. I just dont know what to set or what I'm doing wrong. Can Anybody Helphanks for any immediate replies.

Well, there is no such thing as a "TV rip" in video. You capture video from a tv, there is nothing to "rip". I'm guessing you're referring to XVID tv show downloads? It's hard to know what you're referring to, what you're comparing against.

PSP is not meant to be top quality. At any rate, good luck!

  3. Same thing happened to me and I used the usual Settings, I fear there are issues with the latest version.

Try Jesterware or the latest Nero Recode (2.4.5.0) to get quality H.264/AVC encoding.

Jesterware actually has specs designed specifically for the PSP and offers a free evaluation.
