I have both SONY regular DRU510A & 700A. Having problems burning Music Audio CD and the 700A cannot burn DL backup disc movies. I tried on another Samsung Drive DL with no problem (burning via LAN).

I checked http://sony.storagesupport.com/dvdrw/dru700adwn.htm there's really no new Drivers etc..

Is there something SONY put on their drives NOT to burn? How can I fix this? Thanks.

    A hint ...

You messed up having recordnow from roxio installed when nero exist's ... thats a major screwup in itself ... they dont like each other , and cause system conflicts ... stick with nero and throw roxio's recordnow out the window ... too blaze's.

    Then we go onto :

No information regarding the amount of work performed by both unit's ?
No infomation regarding the media brand involved ?
Are you using media these units support ? ... some dont support dl+ , or dl-
Have you updated the unit's firmware ... these are not driver's ... at the bottom of the page link you provided .

Did you burn the original , problematic file or image that would not work , across the lan ?
Are you sure "this" file or image was meant to be burnt to dl media ? ... single burnt to dl , will still work .

Ok , their not working on "1" pc , yet the "lan" connected unit is ...
Maybe you have something nasty hiding on that unit causing problems for the os to operate correctly ... trojan / virus / addware

Suggest you get hijackthis , scan system , disbale all non-essential item's in scan list ... quicktime , messenger update , printer utitlities , ect ... save change's , reboot pc , rescan .

Problem's will stick out like sore thumb's ... clean out temporary internet folder ... windows explorer , tools , folder options , view tab , hidden files and folders , check "show hidden file's and folders" , uncheck the two below this option , answer yes to popup box , apply , ok , hit 5F to refresh windows explorer ... documents and settings , your normal account name , local settings , clean out both temp and temporary internet folders manually ... then reset the folder's back to normal ... go back to tools , and undo changes .

Under xp and winme , if a nasty bugger has got the death grips on the pc and wont let go without a fight ... disable the system restore point ... then in the other hijackthis option's , we have a "remove on boot" area ... and that sucker to this list and it gets terminated permanently .

Just check the folder it reside's in ... may have replicant's with similar name's ... if your not sure ... copy the text from the scan , and pm me with the content , and I'll give you a hand .

Remember , to reset restore point after .

I am world record holder ... 1 pc infected by 180+ virus's , and 600+ trojans ... 4 hour's work ... system cleaned and funtioning as normal without a reinstall ... I even amazed myself ... only one rich text file destroyed in the process .

No wonder it took more than 30 minute's before you could do anything ... and when it connected online , it was game over ... couldnt do anything with it ... I felt sorry for the poor owner ... a complete newbie ... only charged him $10.00 for cleaning it out of problem's .

What about the psu ... a slight problem here can cause headaches .

Should be about the limit ... except for " it's time to get new replacement's " .
