  1. I have a few AVI's I'd like to convert to WMV. Is there any way to do this for free, without having some watermark added to the videos, such as from shareware programs? Thanks!

    Movie maker in program files will convert avi to wmv.

    High quality setting would be the best if its really good quality avi.

    Windows Media Encoder is probably more flexible if you don't need to do an editing. Much greater control over the actual encoder settings than Movie Maker, which just uses templates. WME is a free download from Microsoft.
