    I have winxp service pack one..I was looking in nero and in the aspi layer box says none installed..but I can use nero aspi and all works pretty well..my question is does nero or any other burning software need aspi to write at full capacity speed..?

    You should be fine using SPTI.Nero uses its own ASPI.If you have problems with other tools you can sometimes solve it by copying Nero's ASPI file (wnaspi32.dll) into the Programs folder eg EAC.
