Hi,
I have a Panasonic PV-GS300 that is connected through firewire. I was able to capture about 8 months ago, but now I can't.
When I plug in my DV turn it on, the computer detects the DV without any problems. I can even see the Panasonic DV Camcorder under My Computer. When I go to Device Manager I don't see any problems. The 1394 Controller is working properly. Under Imaging Devices, Panasonic DV Camcorder is there. I have reinstalled the 1394 controller and still doesn't work.
When I go to Pinnacle it's telling me my DV is not connected or turned on. When I go to WinDV, under Video Source all I see is two options, MS DV Camera and VCR & Angel II MPEG Device. How come my Camcorder is not showing up? Is it possible that something else is using the Camcorder?
Please help. I have searched everywhere and no answer.

Our Enosoft DV Processor uses the more friendly names (like the ones shown in My Computer) - you might want to try it to confirm that your Panasonic is indeed available. (The software has some diagnostics, too, that we can use to help understand what might be going on if the camcorder doesn't show up).John Miller
