I'm getting a 2001 a space ..... rip from a guy in the UK, it is a mpeg in PAL format SVCD, so if I burn it as a svcd with nero will it play on a US dvd player ? TIA

Maybe yes maybe no. All USA players as you called yours are not equal. It would have been helpful as always to tell us your Brand and model. Many newer players will, Apex and Ge generally will play either. They set output to which ever type of tv you have the DVD player hooked to. Also not all players will play SVCD. If Pal is an issue you will get a Black and white piture if SVCD is an issue you get no disk in machine message.

Well I have a POS player that I got 3 years ago, well ok it is not a POS really, but it will not play anything but DVD's, and now I have a lot of s/vcds so I really need to get a new one, the APEX look to be the best for playing just about anything. I will need to read more and ask for ideas on which one is best. Thanks for your reply.
