  1. What is the best VCD/MP3 CD player out there? I been looking at the Supertek MP-2001V, the NAPA DAV311, the Supertek EN-2001V, and some others. Does anyone have any of these or any other portable VCD/MP3 cd players? please post any experience (and which one you have) here. Thx

  2. I got the Napa Dav311 for christmas. Although it is quite a good little unit, I have to say that the VCD playback is a little hit or miss. Some will play back fine, with the occasional jump when a lot of stuff is happening on screen. Others, will be just unwatchable, like Kalifornia, where it pauses every couple of seconds.
MP3 playback on the 311 is pretty good, if you ignore the harmonic distortion it puts on the vocals of some songs.
In clonclusion, the 311 is a good device, but is probably not the best on the market.
    Hope this helps.

  3. I bought the supertek portable, and it works fine for mp3. VCD is OK-I use it in the car for trips, and it does well with some vcds, but others give lots of skips. Sometimes FF or RW stops it. It also appears to be disc dependent, as TDKs I use tend to skip more than a no name CDR. All in all, for $80 a decent deal.

I like it better than playing tapes-easier to carry and the player takes up minimal space in the car.
