Sound too quiet after authoring

Hello all. I have been using ConverXtoDVD for a couple of weeks now and I'm very happy with the the results. However, the last few DVDs that I have authored have had really quiet audio. I've noticed, with the help of G-spot, that it seems to be the movies with this audio codec:

0x0055(MP3, ISO) MPEG-1 Layer 3
48000Hz 128 kb/s total (2 chnls) LAME3.90.°

However, movies with this codec turn out fine:

0x2000(AC3, Dolby Laboratories, Inc) AC3
48000Hz 192 kb/s total (2 chnls)

What makes it worse it that I play the movies on my PS2, which doesn't have a loud audio output to begin with, and I have to turn my TV up so loud that the speakers buzz.

Not within ConvertXToDVD.

For most sources, virtualdub (or one of its variants) can help you out. Go to Video > Direct Stream Copy, go to Audio > Full Processing, then go to Audio > Volume and set it to 200% (or whatever you need). Go to File > Save as AVI and it will save out a new AVI, leaving the video untouched, but with PCM WAV sound that is amplified.

Besweet (or most audio editors) should be able to do this also, but you might need to demux the audio first.

Be warned though that 128kbps MP3 will more than likely sound crap if the volume is amplified too much.
