I have a favourite series with three one hour episodes on each DVD9 and want to back them up onto single layer DVD-R with a menu and two of the one hour episodes.

I would like to keep the original menu if possible for three episodes per disk and edit it for two episodes per disk on the back up DVD-R . I was able to copy the episodes from the DVD9 with DVDfab but could not work out how to copy the menu for editing from three to two episodes. Perhaps DVDRemake Pro is better for this.

Can any informed person kindly spell oput the steps to do this using preferably DVDFab Platinum or DVDRemake Pro. I also have Nero Vision etc.

I am new to all of this and do not know what a PGC is.

Remake is great for menu manipulation...what do you want to change to the menu?

The way I would do it is to rip the entire DVD-9 to your hard drive (DVDDecrypter, DVDfab decrypter, ripit4me), then open the VIDEO_TS folder in DVDRemake. Depending on the way the original is authored, you may just be able to delete the PGC containing the episode you want to "lose". You can then simply just delete the button object off the menu. This will leave all other functionality intact.
    If in doubt, Google it.

I have ripped the DVD (with Decrypter) as a ISO and MDS and mounted it on Damon and was able to read contents of ISO with DVDRemake Pro but now stuck as how to use Remake.

I have the info in the Remake panels but it is not very intuiitve and I can't open the menu ot in fact be sure where it is.

It's sorta hard to explain but perhaps the following might assist:

    DVDRemake Forums:

    DVDRemake Manual:

    If in doubt, Google it.

You can play with DVD player/debugger build into DvdReMake Pro. Just import the disk and hit "Run" button on toolbar. Once you get to the needed menu, hit "Locate" and you will open it in editor.

Heh i don't know what a PGC is either, but i can do a lot of neat stuff in DVDRemake Pro. Nothing to it, but it took me a while to realize the kinda stuff the program was capable of and doing it

IMO, its worth buying just for the Disc merge feature. Especially for episodic DVDs with only a few epsiodes per disc, that don't use up a full DVD-5.
